Prof. Maurice Kamto says his charity organization Survie Cameroon Survival Initiative has met its one million euro fundraising target. On social media he has congratulated those who contributed.
“Against all odds, we have been up to the challenge. This is a demonstration of what Cameroonians can achieve together when there is a clear course and credible leaders.”
The charity was created after the coronavirus outbreak to respond to the health emergency in Cameroon.
The contributions have been banned by Minister Paul Atango Nji of territorial administration
On April 29th 2020, minister Paul Atanga Nji signed an order stopping the initiative citing lack of due process.
The minister’s ban was ignored by the opposition figure. The towering legal luminary said MINAT’s ban is illegal and unconstitutional.
